Getting to know the Executive Committee in 2025
The Unitarian Executive Committee is the governing body for our national Unitarian movement – more about it here: What it means – the EC. The EC elections were held in March 2025, hosted by Popularis, the independent election firm, with Zac Baker, Sarah Benfield, Rev. Stephanie Bisby, and Rev. Arek Malecki all being elected (more about the process here: EC Elections 2025). The other members are: Rev. Jo James (Convenor), John Bates (Honorary Treasurer), Rev. Laura Dobson, Jenny Jacobs, and Simon Hall. Here’s a video introduction from Rev. Arek Malecki: Meet the Unitarian EC 2025
It was good to be invited to virtually meet them on Zoom on 15th July 2025, and despite an annoying Zoom-bomber (so 2021!), we had a productive discussion covering the future of the Unitarian movement, how we can manage effective communications for a very disparate group of congregations, the importance of safeguarding and the move for the General Assembly to become a CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). As ever, good to catch up with our elected representatives, and we hope to have more such sessions soon.
The most recent EC meeting was on 21 October at Leicester Great Meeting. Find out more about this here:
