This year, Newcastle was the host city for UK Pride 2022, so Ben MacLeod organised a Newcastle Unitarian presence. On Saturday 23 July, a few members of the church met at the building for a tasty breakfast of pastries and to don our brand new hoodies, designed by Ben – you can see Ben opening the box when they arrived – with a rainbow version of our logo on the front and the words ‘Newcastle Unitarians. Inclusive. Different. Proud’ on the back.

The group then walked to the Civic Centre to join the march down Northumberland Street, then stood with our rainbow diversity flag at the entrance to the Pride show at Exhibition Park, so everyone passing into the event could see. A lady from Doncaster was pleased to see our church present and took a photo, as she and her wife were married at Doncaster Unitarians.
