Newcastle Quakers and Unitarians Coffee Morning
From a guest writer, Adrian Callendar at Newcastle Quakers!
Newcastle Quakers welcomed members of Newcastle Unitarians to a coffee morning on Friday 11th September at Newcastle Quaker Meeting House. Our conversations were wide-ranging and gave us an opportunity to appreciate the common ground we share as inclusive faith communities.
Both our traditions have a long history of working for social justice, human rights, equality and peace. We draw on wisdom from many sources, including Christianity, other faith traditions, philosophy, science and our experience of modern life. Neither community has a formal creed or a traditional clergy hierarchy. We all came away hoping that this gathering would be the beginning of stronger links and further opportunities to meet and learn from one another.
