Support a local charity – GAIN

The GAIN charity logo

One of the issues we discussed at our recent AGM in April 2021 was how we could become more involved in our local community and contribute to people’s wellbeing. One way to do this is to support local charities and good causes, so at the Spring Miscellany service on 30th May 2021, we had a retiring collection for GAIN. This is a charity supported by Brian Johnson, a former member of our congregation who also kindly built our new website for us!

Brian writes: “GAIN provide support to people with conditions like my own and similar autoimmune conditions. Here’s a bit about them from their website: ‘Receiving a diagnosis of Guillain-Barré syndrome or CIDP (Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy) can be a terrifying and isolating experience, bringing with it many questions and an uncertain future. GAIN is the only organisation dedicated to helping people affected by these conditions in the UK and Ireland. We are here to offer the information and help needed to support those affected by these conditions through this difficult time.’

Please consider if you would like to make a donation. You can do so online here: GAIN. If you prefer not to donate online, you can make cheques payable to GAIN, and post them to: GAIN, Glennys Sanders House, Pride Parkway, Sleaford, Lincolnshire, NG34 8GL
