Congregational Connections: Online Giving, 23 March 2021

On 23rd March 2021, Rev. Bob Janis-Dillon continued his work in the new role of ‘Congregational Connections Lead Officer’ by bringing together a select group of Unitarians from across the UK to talk about the challenges of setting up online donations. We discussed various options, from CAF to Stripe to that old favourite, standing orders, and the challenges of trying to set up an account when you don’t have a registered charity number (as we don’t – excepted charities don’t have them). We’ll soon be setting up our online donations page via the website, but in the meantime, if you’d like to set up a standing order and haven’t already – thanks to those who have – please email the Treasurer, David Venus, at: info@newcastleunitarians.org.uk (don’t include any bank details in the email at this stage).
As is often the way with Unitarians, we soon moved on to some more philosophical discussions about the role of giving, and the need to build it into serviecs and ministry, as part of the congregation creating our community together.
