We took a break from Unitarianism to explore the Old Town of Prague at night, and hopefully find a reasonably-priced place doing Czech cuisine for 11 people on a Friday evening that took card payments, with no advance booking. Looking back, this was probably a tactical error. Or possibly not; we wandered freely throughout the streets, sightseeing and taking in the unusual street art of Prague.

The city seems to have counterbalanced its traditional architecture with a fondness for surreal sculptures wherever it can find room, many the work of an artist called David Czerny. His works include a rather alarming sculpture of a man seemingly hanging from one hand above a street, and this rather odd image on the drainpipe of the National Theatre building near the Unitarian Church. Despite appearing as though the drainpipe has swallowed something, it is actually titled ‘Embryo’ – click on the link, and the image will illustrate why! Finally, we located a restaurant with a table for eleven, and settled in for dinner, which for many of us was soup in a bun, with a dark lager or two. Fortified, we ambled back to the hotel, stopping off at a local bar on the way, which was very happy to find a table for 11 for drinks, and sampled some of the local spirits, then returned home for the night.
