In March 2022, a former member of our congregation, Helen McCullagh, passed away – below is her order of service. Despite having a long journey to get here, she attended regularly and her good nature and intelligence were a great asset to our congregation.

Louise Reeve comments: “I remember Helen for her cheerfulness, and her great determination to attend Newcastle upon Tyne Unitarians! She was truly a lovely person.”

Another comment from a member of the congregation who knew her well was: “Helen was always bright-eyed and had a pleasing smile. Behind her gentle and unassuming manner was a deep intelligence and I recall many occasions when, after a worship service, we’d engage in a discussion of the service and our beliefs. She was clearly a thoughtful person and I invariably benefited from our conversations.”
