For our Flower Communion Service in 2025, we’re holding a retiring collection for the Kendal Unitarian Schoolroom Roof Appeal. Here’s some more information about this, and a link to donate if you feel able to do this.

From Kendal Unitarians: “The ceiling of the hall attached to our Chapel (known as the ‘Schoolroom’) collapsed in November 2022. An integral part of our chapel over many decades, the Schoolroom not only serves our Unitarian community but also regularly hosts four other local faith groups. In addition to being important for spiritual provision, it caters to over forty community groups and events, providing a large, open, multi-purpose space for community needs.

Sadly, the Schoolroom is now unsafe and entirely out of use, bringing many faith and community activities to a halt. We are therefore appealing to the general public, trusts, and foundations to help us reach our target of approximately £500,000 and restore our Schoolroom ceiling to its former glory. Our Schoolroom has a rich past, and we are confident it will have a prosperous future if it can be repaired and building improvements made.
