‘Beltane Meditation’, by Rev. Tony McNeile
“Beltane is a time of flowers. A time to gather the flowers of Spring, making a posy of them and giving them to your friend with a blessing. Beltane is a time of purification – to light bonfires and walk between them and let the smoke and the heat cleanse your spirit and cleanse your body and your soul of all impurities. Beltane is a time to share the fire of the hearth. I take from the fire we all share and light my own – it is a sign of our togetherness, a sign of our oneness. Beltane is a time of dancing and laugher and making merry. Beltane celebrates the beginning of summer. Beltane is a time for lovers. Find your love, give your love. Beltane is the time when the Goddess emerges and takes the Prince of the Green as her lover. Beltane is a time to let go – to feel the joy of life in your soul, in your heart, in your brain. Blessed Beltane, take us through the summer, love life, love our friends, love the sacred earth and all the life that radiates from it.”
