On a chilly night on 12 November 2024, people from all faiths and none gathered in the café at Newcastle Cathedral at 7pm for the Newcastle ‘Voices of Faith’ event for National Interfaith Week: “Ancient and Modern”. We heard from three speakers about their personal faith journeys:

• Brenda Dinsdale, Hon Life President, Newcastle Reform Synagogue
• Fariba Hedayati, from the Baháʼí Community
• Nabeela Ali, from the Muslim Community

It was a fascinating event, and whilst all the speakers were amazing, I was particularly interested to hear from Brenda Dinsdale and Fariba Hedayati, as Reform Judaism and the Baháʼí faith are two communities we’ve thought of building links with in future. Perhaps a challenge for 2025! We hope that, whatever the future of interfaith events in future, this series will continue. Many thanks to the organisers!
