Newcastle upon Tyne Unitarians take part in a Celebration of Love

We held two services to take part in this Unitarian celebration! The first one was led by Louise Reeve on 6th February, “A Celebration of Love”, and looked at the different aspects of love – romantic, platonic, and companionable, among many – and also challenged us to think about who can marry, and about our attitudes to love and relationships generally. Are we ready for non-binary marriage, or asexual relationships? Are we speaking the truth when we say all are welcome here? We also shared a chocolate meditation; well, it is the food of love!

We conducted a Valentine’s Day Miscellany on 13 February, led by Ben MacLeod with a bit of history about St. Valentine and why his feast day is celebrated on the 14th February. We had poems, readings, reflections and music on the theme of love.
