A select group of four of us attended this event organised by Unitarian Transformers: “Humanist? Christian? We are all Unitarians”, which in itself provided interesting food for thought. Four attendees, including Rev. Mark Hutchinson and Rev. Wyn Thomas, discussed why this has become of the most critical Unitarian debates of our age, and how we can get more people talking constructively about it. Mark and Wyn have recorded an excellent video about this, which I encourage you to watch – it’s here: I think we need to pursue this, as I do indeed take a Unitarian stance; humanism and Christianity are both great human spiritual philosophies – but there are so many others, and to define ourselves along these binary lines is not only sad, it means we will fail to learn so much from our fellow human beings.
