Tuesday Night: Shana Begum and “Ensuring All Are Welcome Here”

Shana Begum challenged us to consider all the different ways in which human beings differ from each other, and how all can be made welcome within our buildings and congregations. Do we tend to assume that younger people are also able-bodied and have free time? Do we value the contribution of older people enough, and how can we make sure everyone can see themselves in our communities? We appreciated the use of hymns, music and a Metta Bhavna meditation, followed by breakout sesisons in which we could catch up with the experiences of fellow Unitarians on the challenges we face.
